Gamestop because they wouldn’t take the controller if it didnt work, so you know when you buy it it will work. If you bought it off ebay, it could already be broken since no one checks it.
While Gamestop does have a guarantee, its certainly not the cheapest. The trade-in business isn’t just a side gig for them anymore, its a major part of their business model. And they seem to buy low and seriously raise the price of many popular games. The only type that is cheap from them is the annually released games like Madden and other sports games.
Aside from eBay and Amazon, you could try too. But be VERY WEARY of scams there, you may find what you want cheap, but there is no safety net.
